Thank you for your interest in Pacific Aqua Farms.
All livestock imported into our Los Angeles facility is held for a minimal time period to insure highest quality possible. When the corals reach our facility from our Fiji or Tonga station they are conditioned and screened for quality perfection and color. We are then able to eliminate any loss and select only the most colorful and interesting pieces for your export. Of course this selection and quality screening process does cost a little more but the result is a perfect selection of beautiful corals arriving healthy on just a short flight from Los Angeles to your destination usually within 12 hours.
Our Los Angeles facility (located right next to LAX) has been engineered with only the latest and most modern equipment currently available. No expense has been spared to create the best environment possible for the corals in our care including powerful lighting, chillers, skimming, ozone generation and specially designed tanks.
Since we have a very difficult time shipping Europe and Asia direct from Fiji and Tonga with impossible bookings and over 50 hours of flight time we felt it was necessary to make this move to supply this market with the best corals in the industry on a short convenient flight from LAX. We sincerely hope you agree with our philosophy to serve the entire industry in the best way possible.
In addition, you will note that we are now finally able to offer you our farm raised coral of several varieties and our manufactured live rock. Our farm raised corals are attached to a manufactured base that mimics live rock and has a “stem” that can either be utilized for placement or broken off depending on how you wish to use it. All coral fragments are then grown out on racks in the Fiji waters for about six months to one year until they have fully established bases of their own. Our man made rock is manufactured in our facility and placed in several different locations in the sea for optimum coralline growth for a period of one and a half years before it is harvested for your market. The shapes are very unique and the color and weight is very good. We hope you will try these items for a sensible approach to an environmentally friendly harvest while we continue to develop our farms in the South Pacific.
Sincerely,
Walt Smith |
